Refining fire fall. Wash away all these petty selfish things.

Thursday, April 02, 2009

Busy as all get out.

I love my friends.

I miss you all.

disenchanted.
disenfranchised.
do you feel that you own
your own destiny?
do you take time
outside of your
stream of consciousness
to delve into the heart
--your heart--
of all that surrounds you?

Thoughts

Economic turmoil. Social unrest. Emotional malaise. Political squabbling.

Quite frankly, it sounds like something right out of the bible, and no, not the book of revelations. It sounds more like old testament Israel , or the constant stumblings of every other group of people in most every other time period on all the earth. We are unique, we are completely different and singular people, but let us not be so focused upon ourselves as to say, "Woe is me." What, woe is me because I cannot buy that nice 82" flat screen HDTV that I wanted? Man, such terrible times. Perhaps I could have loaned that money, if only the loan market wasn't going belly-up.

Which brings to a mind a point that I have been mulling over in my mind for years. The ancient Hebrews detested the act of usury, as did the Romans, yet we, in these recent 500 years have built a financial system that is governed almost primarily upon usury. Usury, the act of charging a rate of interest over time has been the foundation of our market. It is peculiar thing, not one that I find remarkably alarming, but one that I find remarkably interesting.

It's late, I thought I'd stop in and rabble rabble rabble. G'night.

Waiting

Passive waiting can turn into cynicism.

Ezekiel 12:21
21 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 22 "Son of man, what is this proverb that you people have about the land of Israel, which says, 'The days are prolonged, and every vision fails'? 23 Tell them therefore, 'Thus says the Lord God: "I will lay this proverb to rest, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel." But say to them, "The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision. 24 For no more shall there be any false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel. 25 For I am the Lord. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and perform it," says the Lord God.' "
